Four Years in Professional College

During my school days I was an average student, who only studies to save his neck from the hanging sword. After completion of my school I got admission in a professional college in electronics engineering branch (thank god, for huge number of professional colleges in our state). On the very first day our honourable principal deliver us the speech, while attending the speech I was curiously counting the girls sitting in the hall .Later they asked us to split according to our branches, in front of my eyes I lost all girls and landed in a class with a majority of boys (i.e. 95% strength), that was my luck.

Slowly the time passed, we started recognizing the location from their nick names like corridor crossing as ‘ram lal chowk’, internet lab as ‘adda’, library as ‘lover’s point’, a canteen outside our college as ‘dhaba’ and lots more even we discuss our lecturers with their nicknames (I don’t make them public here).

From the starting of my social life I was bit conservative in nature, I don’t like creating pond of friends nor I was a party animal, people sometimes start considering me an arrogant personality, but they were wrong. During my college days I was having limited number of friends although I meet everyone with a smile but still I don’t take them as my friend.

During my first year I was a day-scholar from my relative’s place which was around 50 km away from my college, later I hired a room near college. I study in a limited manner so that I can save my skin from backlogs but again I was not that much lucky, I got backlogs in couple of subjects (especially maths, which took every drop of my blood to clear). One thing which I believe was that either I was not made to study these books or books are not made according to me but in both the situations I have to study because at last these books will decide my future.

There were lots of problem in our college (may be other college students also face some similar problems). In our college every lecturer considers himself/herself as a professor working in R&D field but the fact is that 90% of them are not even familiar with the concepts which they’ll try to teach us still if they teach us East as West , we have to agree with their words because they had our internal marks ( 50-75 ) in their hands i.e. we had no right to correct them or tell them that they are wrong , our infrastructure was totally disturbed, labs own corrupt/faulty apparatus and instruments, inter net-lab results into fluctuating net connection, canteen look like a store room, computer’s were loaded with Red Hat Linux as basic OS and the biggest problem, our placement cell look at par with a government office , with a motto – “don’t work, but show as if only you are working.”
I also agree that students were also responsible for all this but not at par with college.

But this doesn’t mean that we don’t have good lecturers, their were few good lecturers who teach us in a dedicated manner and try to craft a complete professional and a good human being from us.

College life was a time when majority of us fall in love, even the same happen with me. But had you ever thought why everyone falls in love? Had your ever heard “RISE IN LOVE “(still a big question for me), my relationship last for more then a year and after that BREAK-UP (again a question for me, why?).

During my 3rd year of graduation I got selected in a multi-national company working in the field of software/ application development. To my surprise I was the 1st boy and 3rd person from my batch who got a placement, a matter of pride for me and a matter of surprise for people who know me, telling frankly I was also surprised.

Still at that time, we people talk and blame our college on various issues.

Another biggest problem was that our college was loaded with cameras so that authorities can keep a check on students along with this our college place a ban on multimedia cell phones inside campus (as per supreme court’s ruling) but still we people never miss a single moment of fun with our cell phones.

As the time passed we reach in our final semester, this time with a inside respect for our college (I am not sure about others), I compare myself from the day I enter the college and my last day in college, after comparing my words changed.

My college teaches me a lot of things indirectly i.e.
Life is like a race either keeping running else this world will through you out.
Don’t believe in stars, trust the one who made them.
In the end, you’ll find only your family on your side.
This world is loaded with selfish people, never go with the words; they act as a mask over the feelings.
Never mix up your professional, social and personal life.
and lots more …

Few confessions:
1) I slept in almost every lecture with eyes open.
2) Assignments and practical files were copied every time.
3) Before starting of sessionals I (rather everyone in my class) write the solutions on the benches or walls.
4) We chat about teachers with their nicknames.
5) I keep an eye on almost every girl in my college.
6) We use our multimedia cell phones throughout 4 years
7) I keeping SMSing during lecture or labs.

But at last, now after completing my college life I can conclude that I was a part of a really wonderful institute, which try it’s best to craft me.
Every institute has good and bad lecturers both, what if we have majority of bad.
What if we don’t have the infrastructure, thank god, they don’t ask us to craft benches or to do cabling.
What if they don’t have good labs, had you ever seen any R&D work in college labs?
What if we got fluctuating internet facility, at last we only need it for ORKUTing.
What if our placement cell doesn’t place people, at least I got a job.
OK no more jokes.

In final words “I was quite satisfied from my college and wishing it’s betterment in every field”

Had you ever thought of changing the creator’s ID in PDS/PS without any trace. Let me tell you a cool way to do this, in the command area against the member name or PS name, by giving ‘G‘ a dialogue box will pop up allowing you to change the values.

Don’t you think this is great !!! Try it once.
